![]() I have been calling around local stores inquiring about marine plywood. First things first on my list is the transom. And it may have some rot or soft spots on it but i don't know if it does or not. Also needs a new wooden seat that will also be a cross support, so when i get in it it wont fold like a taco. ![]() From what my uncle has told me and from what i have seen when i briefly examined it was that it needs a complete new transom. But first i need to get it from my uncles/grandpas place to my place. So now that i have a job i have been looking into fixing it up finally. Hello fellow outdoorsmen and outdoorswomen! So a few months ago my uncle gave me a little 8 foot fiberglass dinghy. it was a good day for me but a bad day for my uncle. We went to winco right after and some time after we loaded up the food we bought his grigg 3 weight fly rod got broke in the back of the jeep. i broke off twice and called it quits and my uncle didnt catch anything there either. so we went to dairy creek and fished for about an hour. We proceeded not to catch anymore fish at the pond. he then switched to his homemade fly rod and it broke for the third time in the last week while casting. My uncle was mad at that point cause he had been trying for awhile to catch one of those bass. and the first couple casts WHAM i get a nice 10 1/2 inch bass. I told him to switch to a more natural color. ![]() i caught a couple more and then my uncle started getting bass to lethargicly follow his big bunny buggers that were more of an attracter pattern then a natural pattern. after 10 minutes and no more fish i went to the other side of the pond where it was shady and switched to an adams dry. Just as i started to cast i brought up a small 4 inch bluegill. I had thrown out my leader and 2 feet of line in the water while i was stripping out more line to cast. First fish of the day was caught by accident. I first started out with my go to panfish fly the pheasent tail flash back in size 18. The water was very mucky and full of algea. Its a very small pond That is less then 1/4th am acre if even that. So yesterday me and my uncle Mark went fly fishing at a secret pond we sneak off to once in awhile. I didn't get a picture of the purple pheasant tail cause my battery died. I have not the slightest clue what pattern it is. olive for the tail part and purple for the body. The fourth fly i used olive and purple hackle. and the third attempt i didn't actually use any pheasant tail, i used purple marabou. The second was a bead head pheasant tail with copper ribbing. The first one was an attempt at the pheasant tail flash back. Three of them were attempts at 3 different versions of the pheasant tail pattern (my favorite fly right now). The first centimeter of the screw had smushed threads that my uncle fixed with a screw cutter. Problem was the screw hole and the screw on the side was defective only cause it came with a bad screw. The base, the screw in tube that also has a screw hole plus screw on the side to keep the vise and its shaft from rotating. i put the vise together which is 3 pieces. So yesterday i got my fly tying kit i ordered it came with all the tools etc.
